How to Fix the Fanatic in Your Family

This program is designed for people who genuinely believe this book may benefit others. Rather than advertising widely, I hope thoughtful readers will recommend it personally to friends, family members, colleagues, or audiences who may find it meaningful.

The purpose of this program is not simply to increase sales, but to help this book reach people who may genuinely benefit from it. I ask Referral Partners to recommend it thoughtfully and in good faith.

By requesting or using a GoodSight Communication Referral Code, or by sharing your assigned referral code or referral link, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms on this page.

1. What is the Referral Partner Program?

Referral Partners receive a unique Referral Code to share with others.

Anyone who wishes to begin reading the book will complete the Start Reading Free form and enter your Referral Code. 

If that reader later becomes a paid Patreon member to continue reading the book, you may qualify for a referral payment. 

For each qualifying referral, you will receive a one-time referral payment equal to the referred reader's first monthly Patreon membership payment (currently US $5.00).

No additional commissions are paid on future monthly memberships.

3. When will I be paid?

Referral earnings are calculated for each Payment Period, which runs from the first day through the last day of each calendar month.

Payments are initiated by the fifth day of the following calendar month, provided that your accumulated referral balance has reached the Minimum Payment Threshold of US$25.

This allows time to verify qualifying payments and resolve any failed payments, refunds, or chargebacks.

If your accumulated referral balance is less than US$25 at the end of a Payment Period, the balance will carry forward to the next Payment Period.

4. How does a referral qualify?

A referral qualifies when:

• the reader completes the Start Reading Free form;

• enters your assigned Referral Code;

• later becomes a paid Patreon member using the same email address.

GoodSight Communication reserves the right to verify referrals before issuing payment.

5. What if someone forgets to enter my Referral Code?

Unfortunately, Referral Codes normally cannot be added after the Start Reading Free form has been submitted.

Please encourage readers to enter your code when they first sign up.

6. How do I get paid?

I work with each Referral Partner to agree on a practical Payment Method, taking into account the partner's location, the availability of the payment method, transfer costs, currency, and other practical considerations.

7. Payment fees 

Referral payments may be subject to transfer, payment-processing, currency-conversion, or other fees charged by the payment method or financial institutions involved. Such fees may be deducted from the referral payment.

8. Am I responsible for taxes?

Yes. Referral Partners are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes, duties, or other legal obligations that may arise from receiving referral payments under the laws of their own country or jurisdiction.

GoodSight Communication does not provide tax advice.

I make a shared referral record available to each Referral Partner so that you can see the activity recorded under your Referral Code and keep track of both your readers and your referral earnings. I generally update the record once each week, typically by Friday evening.

The record shows the number of people who have begun reading the book through your Referral Code, as well as the number who have subsequently become qualifying paid readers. Reader totals are cumulative and remain visible as your referrals continue to grow. The record also shows your qualifying referral payments and accumulated balance.

This program depends, in part, on trust. You have no independent way to verify every Start Reading Free registration or Patreon payment associated with your code, and I recognize that. I regard Referral Partners as valuable not simply because they may help me sell books, but because they help this book reach people who may genuinely need it. I therefore intend to keep the referral record as transparent and accurate as I can. 

I hope the same spirit of good faith that governs your recommendations will govern my accounting of them.

10. Can I share my Referral Code anywhere?

Yes, provided your recommendations are honest, respectful, and appropriate for your audience.

Please do not:

• send unsolicited spam 

• make misleading claims about the book 

• pretend to represent me or GoodSight Communication 

• imply that you are an employee or official spokesperson 

I hope this program encourages thoughtful recommendations rather than mass promotion.

11. Can I create advertisements?

You're welcome to create your own posts, videos, emails, or recommendations, provided they accurately represent the book.

I also provide my Referral Partners with a small collection of promotional materials you can use or adapt, including introductory copy, sample social-media posts, the book cover, and photographs. These materials are intended to make thoughtful recommendations easier, not to require a particular style or marketing approach.

I strongly recommend that Referral Partners sign up for the Start Reading Free program themselves before recommending the book. Reading even one of the four free installments gives you a better sense of the book, and you may find the material useful and interesting in its own right. More practically, it is much easier to recommend something you have actually read and believe in.

12. Can I stop participating?

Yes. 

You may stop promoting the book at any time. 

Any unpaid referral balance remains subject to the Minimum Payment Threshold and the payment terms of this program.

13. Can GoodSight Communication end my participation?

Yes.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate participation at our discretion, particularly where promotional methods are deceptive, abusive, misleading, unlawful, or inconsistent with the purpose and values of this program.

14. Can the program change?

Yes.

This program may evolve over time.

If changes are made, the updated terms will be published on this page. Continued participation after those changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

15. General Terms

Participation in this program does not create an employment relationship, partnership, agency, franchise, or joint venture between you and GoodSight Communication.

Referral payments are discretionary benefits offered under this program and are subject to verification.

GoodSight Communication reserves the right to investigate suspected fraud or abuse and to withhold referral payments where there is reasonable evidence of manipulation or misuse.

These terms constitute the complete understanding relating to the Referral Partner Program and supersede any informal discussions or correspondence concerning it.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.
